0 Women in Property Queensland Launch
The Property Council’s highly anticipated 0 Women in Property Queensland Launch took place on Tuesday 19 March at EY’s offices at 111 Eagle Street, Brisbane.
This event was the first opportunity for the recently announced 0 Women in Property sponsors and participants to network, while also hearing from those involved in the program in the past.
Kristan Conlon, Chair of the Property Council’s Diversity Committee provided an overview of the program, expectations of the participants and explained the various other Property Council diversity initiatives including: Girls in Property, the panel pledge, 40:40:20 and the Property Male Champions of Change.
Following Kristan’s informative speech, Lynette McCorquodale, Chief Operating Officer for Arkhefield, summarised her experiences as a participant in the 2018 program. Lynette spoke to the quality networking activities and professional development opportunities that the program presents.
The speeches concluded with Phil Taylor, Head of People & Performance at The GPT Group. The GPT Group is a real estate investment trust and one of Australia’s largest diversified property groups. The GPT Group generously sponsors the 0 Women in Property Program across the country, which allows participants to join without any upfront financial commitments.
Attendees then had plenty of opportunity to take advantage of the advice provided by the evening’s speakers, through networking and making new contacts.
The Property Council would like to thank The GPT Group for sponsoring the program, EY for hosting the launch event, and Kristan and Lynette for providing fantastic speeches.
