0 WOMEN IN PROPERTY NOMINATIONS NOW OPEN

As nominations for 0 Women in Property open, the Property Council calls for the next cohort of future leaders looking for networking, profiling and professional development – as well as their champions.

Now in its fourth year, 0 Women in Property nominations opened on 29 January.

According to the Property Council’s chief operating officer Kathy Mac Dermott, 0 Women in Property encourages Property Council members to make a personal commitment to champion women and diversity.

“The program asks established leaders – women and men – to identify and sponsor emerging female talent in their organisations or business spheres. The program is all about harnessing people power to grow the industry’s talent pipeline,” Mac Dermott explains.

The program expanded from 100 Women in Property just four years ago and is now capped at 0 women and 0 sponsors.

“This year, in response to overwhelming demand, we are giving members the opportunity to submit whole-of company nominations for up to 20 participants, as well as individual nominations,” Mac Dermott adds.

“We are delighted to see the program enter its fourth year – something that would not be possible without the generosity and vision of our national sponsor, The GPT Group.”

Among the program’s advocates is The GPT Group’s chief financial officer Anastasia Clarke, who says “diversity is good for the business bottom line”.

“We know that diversity delivers better decision making. The issue of diversity is bigger than any one organisation. It requires a collective approach from our industry and society.”

Mac Dermott says program participants can expect to take part in a range of networking events, work with their sponsor on profiling and career building opportunities, and to observe a Property Council committee meeting to gain new insights and connections.

“The growing list of 0 Women in Property alumni is a testament to the groundswell of support for diversity in our industry. Let’s keep the momentum going,” Mac Dermott concludes.

Nominate as a participant or a sponsor through the Property Council’s 0 Women in Property website until Friday 15 February 2019. The 2019 participants will be revealed on International Women’s Day, 8 March.
