40:40:20 Queensland Launch

In the lead up to the call for nominations for committees on October 3, the Property Council held the launch event of its 40:40:20 initiative.

Held at Conrad Gargett’s office, the aim was to broaden the networks of women in the property industry, and to discuss the Property Council’s commitment of having a minimum of 40% women, 40% men, and the remaining 20% discretionary, on each committee.

The event was held a day after the Property Council and EY released a report titled Grow the Talent Pool – Insights on gender representation in property. Over 3,800 people participated in the report survey, which explores the motivations, career barriers and challenges women face working in the property industry.

After a warm welcome from the event host Lawrence Toaldo, Director – Conrad Gargett, Renaye Peters, Director – Conrad Gargett and Chair of the Queensland Women & Diversity Committee, provided an overview of the 40:40:20 initiative and the 100 Women in Property program launched in April this year.

Following on from Renaye, Kingsley Andrew, Queensland President, Property Council of Australia & General Manager, Residential Development (QLD) – Stockland, spoke about the importance of the Property Council’s committees to our advocacy work, and outlined the process involved in nominating for a committee.

The Property Council would like to thank everyone who attended the launch event, including our speakers Renaye and Kingsley.  We would also like to thank our event host Lawrence and the team at Conrad Gargett for their support.
