2022 National Construction Code

State and Territory Building Ministers first commissioned the Australian Building Codes Board  (ABCB) to investigate minimum standards for accessibility of residential dwellings in 2019, based on the voluntary Silver, Gold and Platinum options set out in the Liveable Housing Design Guidelines (LHDGs).

The proposed provisions included in the Public Comment Draft of NCC 2022, were released publicly on 10 May 2021.

The Property Council is now engaging with an expert working group and industry peers to advocate for appropriate NCC exclusions, beyond those already secured, and timeframes within a nationally consistent rollout.
