2019 Property Council Award Recipients
Last month Adelaide Oval was alive with the sound of property professionals celebrating as we hosted our annual 2019 Gala Ball and Awards night.
It was a fantastic evening and a great opportunity to network, reflect and celebrate those who are shaping our city and growing our state.
The awards focused on people and teams of people contributing to landmark projects, and celebrated the achievements of South Australia’s pre-eminent and innovative property professionals.
On behalf of the sector, the Property Council extends its thanks and appreciation to all award nominees and finalists, and congratulates the 2019 award recipients. It was an immensely strong pool of candidates this year, which is testament to the quality and calibre of our sector.
A big thanks must go to our major sponsor Rider Levett Bucknall, who have a proud track record of promoting and supporting South Australia’s property sector.
This year’s esteemed award recipients:
MATTHEW WOODROW – YOUNG PROPERTY PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR (JOINT WINNER)
An impressive foundation of academic qualifications and work experience has rocketed Matthew Woodrow up the Sarah Group company ladder and put him at the centre of high quality work transforming South Australia.
Judges acknowledged the important role Matthew has played in the growth of this proud South Australian company, having risen from Finance Manager in 2013 to Group Financial Controller, Chief Financial Officer and now Chief Operating Officer today.
Despite confronting a significant health challenge in 2017, he has demonstrated great resilience to clear this hurdle while still contributing to the growth and success of the company and his portfolios.
Matthew displays a passion for and commitment to the property industry. His focus on creating a strong team environment and working with colleagues to deliver innovative solutions to complex problems earmarks him as an industry leader of the future.
KIMBERLEY GILLAN – YOUNG PROPERTY PROFESSIONAL OF YEAR (JOINT WINNER)
Kimberley Gillan is an outstanding property professional who has made a career out of putting clients and projects first.
Upon joining CBRE in 2011, there were high expectations and her rapid rise within the company demonstrated that she was able to provide meaningful solutions where difficult and unexpected problems presented.
Her decision to leave agency and join Charter Hall last year has been met with a quick and positive impact within the business, capably delivering one of Adelaide’s most iconic buildings of the future – the $2 million GPO Exchange.
The maturity and drive that Kimberley has shown while delivering a complex project is beyond her years, while the changing face of the commercial property sector in Adelaide is testament to her hard work and tenacity.
OLIVER TOTANI – PROPERTY PROFESSIONAL OF THE YEAR
Oliver Totani has made an outstanding return in recent years to the agency game, having built a fresh, dynamic team at Colliers International that has enjoyed resounding success.
Oliver is a stand-out leader and driven contributor to the Colliers team, with a string of impressive commercial and retail property transactions and a strong media profile to help build the Colliers brand.
Over the last three years, Oliver has successfully sold some of Adelaide’s most iconic buildings including 176 Grenfell St and the Archer Hotel in North Adelaide. Oliver has been the recipient of multiple individual and company awards, and can now add Property Professional of the Year to his collection.
His commitment to ‘selling Adelaide’ is crystal clear, and judges agreed that his passion for South Australia had contributed to his enormous success in attracting new capital to his home state.
