2017 Retirement Census data collection underway

The data collection for the 2017 PwC/Property Council Retirement Census is now underway.

By participating, you will receive exclusive insights into the findings through a comprehensive data-rich report.  We also publish a shorter snapshot report for the wider public.

With over 100 data fields, we believe this is Australia’s most comprehensive survey of the retirement living sector. The data collected includes the village’s physical attributes, facilities and stock (including sales); finance and contracts; health and well-being; resident demographics; and current and future development – plus many more items.

Key dates

  • Data collection starts: 28 April 2017
  • Data collection ends: 23 June 2017
  • Snapshot report released: 27-28 November 2017
  • Contributor reports sent: Soon after the snapshot report.

Why participate?

Participating in the Retirement Census helps both your business and the Property Council.

Contributing village operators receive a free comprehensive data report which is substantially larger and more in-depth than the snapshot report which is released to the public. This report enables you to benchmark your portfolio against the industry and keep up with sector changes and trends. The exclusive Contributor’s Report is the most detailed product created by the data and cannot be purchased (but it’s free if you participate in the Retirement Census!)

The data also ensures the Property Council can continue to advocate strongly on the industry’s behalf with government for better and fairer regulation, and to increase knowledge of the sector among the community, prospective residents and investors.

How to participate

Emails seeking participation from retirement village operator members were sent on 28 April to company Property Council ‘member reps’ (or Retirement Living Council Census nominees). If you are your company’s member rep and didn’t receive an email, contact us at [email protected]

The participation email includes details of how to participate and how to access the spreadsheet for completion.

Completed data spreadsheets are due by 23 June 2017.
