2017 Annual Golf Challenge

Last Friday, thirty-six teams of property professionals competed on the recently redeveloped Brookwater Golf and Country Club course for the Property Council’s 2017 Golf Challenge.

Beyond the overall leader board, a number of smaller challenges faced the golfers – requiring a mixture of both luck and skill.

Christmas came early for Tom Walton of Urbis and Mark Heinrich of JHC Holdings, who each won two tickets to the Property Council’s 2017 Downtown Christmas Party after overcoming the Property Council’s Hole 1 chipping challenge.
Robert Jennings of Ridgemill and Trent McLauchlan from Sunland Group both won a remote-controlled car set after placing first and second respectively in Savills’ Hole 3 racing challenge.

Ridgemill kindly donated a club bag for a nearest to the pin activity on Hole 5, which was won by Mark Heinrich of JHC Holdings.

Lorry Truce from Indigo Group was the closest to guessing the number of tees at PIF’s challenge on Hole 7, winning two tickets to the PIF charity sailing regatta. Dave Holstein from SMEC was the second closest and took home a bottle of Moet.

HPC Urban Design & Planning donated a round of golf for two and a golf lesson with a pro to the player with the worst drive on Hole 8. This unfortunate title went to Todd Myles from Priority.

Urbis’ numbers guru, Malcolm Aikman, correctly guessed the number of protein balls assembled by Crazy Fresh on Hole 10, winning a month of healthy meals.

Paul Smith from Hansen Yuncken achieved the straightest drive on Hole 12, winning a bottle of blended scotch whiskey courtesy of Aspect Furniture Systems.

Principal Sponsors Ridgemill measured the longest drive on Hole 13 in support of the YMCA. The YMCA kindly donated a six month fitness membership to Ken Ng from Savills, who took out the title.

SMEC awarded a $.00 Visa Gift Card, golf club and UBS charger to the winner of the nearest to pin second shot on Hole 15. This prize was won by Jacob Hunter from KPG Capital.

Priority Building offered a two night stay in a two bedroom cabin at Fraser Island Retreat at Happy Valley to the business card draw winner on Hole 16. Justin McInally from Hopgood Ganim was the lucky winner.

The team spirit prize was awarded to Mia Bannister and her team from WG Architects.

When the score cards were tallied, the overall winners were the team from Tract with the team from Urbis coming a close second.

The Property Council would like to thank Principal Sponsor, Ridgemill, for their continued generous support of the event. The event would also not have been possible without the support of Hole Sponsors; Aspect Furniture Systems, Crazy Fresh, HPC Urban Design & Planning, Priority, Probuild, Property Industry Foundation, Ridgemill, Savills, SMEC and YMCA.
