2017-18 Committees wrapping up: Commercial Property & Industrial Lands and Infrastructure
As we are nearing the end of the year, our Committees are holding the final meetings of their 2017-18 term!
Both WA Commercial Property and Industrial Lands and Infrastructure Committees have held their final meetings this month and as we wrap up a busy two years with the committees, it’s important to acknowledge the hard work our members have invested in pushing for genuine change in the property industry.
Earlier this year the Commercial Property Committee put a call out to industry participants, with a view to locating a suitable vacant tenancy for Dress for Success – a not-for-profit which operates to empower WA women in need. The Commercial Property & Asset Management team at JLL responded to this request and secured a donation of a 342 sqm tenancy in West Perth!
The Commercial Property Committee have played an integral role in the success of our advocacy and events, including the WA Property Awards and the Commercial Conference. Many members willingly put their hands up to participate as judges, on panel discussions and sit on sub-committees to delve into issues impacting the commercial property sector.
Finally, the Commercial Committee have provided critical expertise in our work addressing commercial vacancies across Perth and the metro region. Their insight into the levers available to stimulate investment has been invaluable.
The Industrial Land and Infrastructure (ILI) Committee have also played a vital part in our advocacy. Committee members assisted in the formation of submissions on critical reform initiatives such as Infrastructure WA and the Planning Reform Green Paper Review. Many members on our ILI Committee have also volunteered to attend and provide important industry perspective at meetings with government and to participate as speakers at our events.
Our members are at the heart of what we do and are fundamental to every aspect of the Property Council. The WA Property Council highly values the contribution all committee members have made over the past two years. We’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you for assisting us to advocate for a better, stronger and more prosperous WA.
