2015 Meet the Buyer Program

The successful ‘Meet the Buyer’ program is a series of events which bring together local businesses and senior government project and contract managers. These events create an opportunity for businesses to meet key Government staff with responsibility for the design of projects, sourcing business solutions, purchasing goods, and to build an awareness of what locally based companies have to offer. They are also an excellent opportunity to learn from past experiences so that businesses and Government alike can prepare for future opportunities in South Australia in a more strategic manner.

After each event, the Office of the Industry Advocate will collate/capture relevant information from those businesses attending which will be used to advise agencies of potential suppliers. Each Meet the Buyer event will include:

  • Information from government buyers about procurement processes, what they are seeking from suppliers and upcoming opportunities 
  • Buyer stands where local suppliers can speak directly to purchasers 
  • Information about procurement approaches and trends 
  • Opportunities to network with other companies with a view to forming joint ventures or identifying sub-contracting opportunities
