2014 ACT Property Business of the Year: Awarded to Hindmarsh Development Australia
Sponsored by GHD
Commitment to quality, customer service and Canberra rewarded
A 40-year commitment to quality, customer service and the people of Canberra has been recognised and rewarded, with Hindmarsh Development Australia taking out the 2014 ACT Property Business of the Year Award.
Hindmarsh was presented with the prestigious award, sponsored by GHD, at the Property Council of Australia ACT Awards Night and Gala Ball at Parliament House on Friday 1 August.
“In a highly-competitive field of outstanding developers, Hindmarsh stands tall for its enduring commitment to Canberra and to delivering high-quality properties that enhance urban living,” Property Council ACT Executive Director, Catherine Carter, said.
Hindmarsh has defied the current economic climate, successfully completing two residential sub-divisions and almost 1,000 residential apartments, retirement units and commercial tenancies during the past five years.
Some of Hindmarsh’s recent projects include the four-stage Bellerive retirement village in Lyons, 18-storey Altitude apartments in Belconnen, Avoca apartments at Woden Green and the mixed-use Crewswell and Penrose developments, currently under construction in Campbell.
“In a tough economy, Hindmarsh has continued to grow, strengthening its business by focusing on key locations of significant existing amenity and adapting its product to market demands,” Ms Carter added.
“The judges were impressed by Hindmarsh’s ability to deliver high-quality projects that yield solid results in a softer market. A commitment to competitive pricing combined with high levels of fit and finish have proved a winning formula,” Ms Carter explained.
One of Hindmarsh’s recent innovations is the MyProperty portal, which enables customers to access information about their apartments, including user manuals, warranty information for appliances, instructions on individual features, and the ability to register defects.
Hindmarsh gives back to the community through active sponsorship of charities and support of the arts. Despite its lean team, Hindmarsh is an active member of the Property Council, through membership and division council representation, and through staff participation in committees.
“The Hindmarsh team understands Canberra and Canberrans, striving for unwavering customer satisfaction. The fact that Hindmarsh has many lifelong customers is no accident. Hindmarsh Development Australia is a worth recipient of this award in 2014,” Ms Carter concluded.
