Drive and dedication pays off for ACT Future Leader

In an industry known for its hard workers, the winner of the 2014 ACT Future Leader of the Year Award is an exceptionally dedicated and driven property professional.

Since embarking on his career in the property industry in 2008, Chris Miller has worked tirelessly to build a reputation for excellence, and today he is National Director of Business Development for Civium Strata.

Not content with just one role, Chris is also a Commercial Sales and Leasing Executive for Ray White Commercial Canberra.

As a strata industry professional, Chris has consulted on many of Canberra’s iconic new developments, such as the NewActon and Realm precincts, the Kingston Foreshore, and the redevelopment of a number of blocks within Braddon’s Lonsdale and Mort streets.

One of Chris’ recent notable achievements was working with the Molonglo Group to successfully establish the owners’ corporation for Nishi – a move that blazed a trail for complex subdivisions in air space in the Canberra market.

A strong advocate for improving industry standards and practices, Chris was a key industry contributor during and after the review and amendment local strata legislation, and authored a number of submissions to the ACT Government on behalf of industry.

The ACT Future Leader of the Year Award recognises excellence and outstanding achievement by a young property professional.

“The judging panel was impressed with Chris’ rapid career progression and his contribution to the industry and to building a dynamic and world-class city for the people of Canberra,” Property Council ACT Executive Director, Catherine Carter, said.

“Chris has an outstanding work ethic, exceptional knowledge of his specialist areas and a knack for building long-lasting relationships,” Ms Carter added.

The ACT Future Leader of the Year Award, sponsored by King & Wood Mallesons, was presented to Chris Miller at the Property Council of Australia ACT Awards Night and Gala Ball 2014 at Parliament House on Friday 1 August.
