ASX-listed property fund manager GPT Group has ended its search for a new chief executive to replace outgoing Bob Johnston by hiring Russell Proutt, who has resigned as chief financial officer at Charter Hall for the new role.

Mr Proutt is anticipated to commence with GPT no later than 25 March 2024. Mr Johnston will continue as CEO until Mr Proutt commences and will work closely with the Board and Mr Proutt to ensure a smooth transition.

Mr Proutt brings over 30 years of experience in commercial property markets, funds management, mergers & acquisitions and finance having held senior leadership positions most recently as Chief Financial Officer at Charter Hall and prior to that at Brookfield Asset Management.

CBRE has appointed Zoe Ferrari to a newly created Pacific role as Head of Government for its Global Workplace Solutions business.

She has more than 18 years of property industry experience and led CBRE’s Canberra office for five years before moving to a client-side role at ISPT.

Australian academic and leading ESG expert, Dr Georgia WarrenMyers has joined JLL as Head of ESG Value and Risk Advisory for Asia Pacific.

Herron Todd White has announced the election of Sheena Wilson as Chair of the Herron Todd White Australia board.

Andrew Wellington has been elected as an Independent Non-Executive Director to the HTWA/C Board at last week’s AGM, and appointed Deputy Chair of the Board, and Chair of the Finance, Audit & Risk Management Committee.

Based in Brisbane, Mr Wellington has been the Chair of the Brisbane Lions Football Club since 2017. He is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD) and Senior Fellow of FINSIA (Financial Services Institute of Australasia) and served as Chair of FINSIA Queensland’s Regional Council from 2007 to 2011.

PEXA Group announced the appointment of senior executive Joe Pepper as UK CEO, charged with delivering the PEXA solution to UK customers and industry.

He was until recently the Chief Executive Officer of TM Group, a proptech company where he spearheaded the company’s growth to more than £60m annual revenue and over 300 employees. The company was recently sold to investment firm Aurelius for up to £91m.

Mr Pepper will commence on 2 October. He will sit on the PEXA Group Executive Team and become a member of the PEXA UK Board chaired by John Hooper.
