Australasian real estate funds manager, Centuria Capital Group has appointed 20-year experienced property leader, Nick Hunt, as its new General Manager of Western Australia.

He previously held similar positions with family offices and listed real estate peers such as 151 Property and Charter Hall.

His appointment enables Centuria’s retail specialist, Bruce McCully, to focus on growing the group’s large format retail and daily needs retail platforms throughout Australia. Previously, he held dual roles of Head of Retail and WA General Manager.

Arabella Rohde has been named AECOM’s new area manager for the ACT, after positions at the ACT Division Property Council of Australia, ISPT, and Lendlease, where she supervised the execution of substantial mixed-use complexes.

Stamford Capital Australia will restructure its executive leadership team in response to growth and forecast expansion of Stamford Capital Investments (SCIM), its investment arm. 

The restructure will see Peter O’Connor promoted from Chief Operations Officer to Managing Director. Co-founders Domenic Lo Surdo and Michael Hynes will take on new roles, focused on driving SCIM with further growth anticipated in the current market characterised by declines in leverage and lender appetite.

Mr Lo Surdo is set to become Group Executive Chairman of Stamford Capital and SCIM. He will also remain on SCIM’s Group Risk Committee and Investment Committee. Meanwhile, Mr Hynes will move to Group Executive Director of Stamford Capital and SCIM and remain on SCIM’s Investment Committee.

Herron Todd White has announced that John McKillop, the founding Executive Chair of LAWD and former Chief Executive Officer of Hancock Agriculture & S. Kidman & Co, will be starting with Herron Todd White as the new Executive Director of Agribusiness from mid-August.

ESR Group announced the promotions of Josh Daitch to Group Chief Investment Officer and Matthew Lawson to Group Chief Operating Officer.

In his new role as Group Chief Investment Officer, Mr Daitch will oversee Fund Management, Capital Raising, Research and Analytics and New Product Creation. Prior to this new appointment, Mr Daitch was ESR Group Head of Capital & New Economy Fund Management.

Mr Lawson brings with him over 20 years of experience in leading global real estate investment and financial services companies across the Asia Pacific region. Prior to joining ESR in 2020, he was an Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer of Hongkong & Shanghai Hotels.

Senior industry expert Thomas Briault has been appointed Arup’s new Energy Business Leader for NSW & ACT.

In a career spanning more than 20 years with the firm, he has directed major business-critical projects across the UK and most recently led Arup’s energy business in Southeast Asia. Prior to this, Thomas led the Energy, Cities and Climate Change team in Arup’s UK offices.

Colliers has reinforced its investment in building scale and growing capabilities in the Asia Pacific region with the appointment Sungwook Cho to Managing Director of Colliers Korea.
