Cushman & Wakefield announced that the Board of Directors has accepted John Forrester’s intent to retire from his position as Chief Executive Officer and member of the Board of Directors, effective following 35 years of service to the company.

As part of the company’s long-standing succession plan, Cushman & Wakefield’s Board of Directors appointed Michelle MacKay, currently President and Chief Operating Officer, to assume the role of CEO as of 1 July, 2023.

Mr Forrester will remain employed as a strategic advisor until 31 December, 2023. In addition, Ms MacKay was elected to serve on the Board of Directors, effective 1 July, 2023. Brett White will remain as Executive Chairman of the Board.

Meanwhile, Andrew McDonald, currently President of Cushman & Wakefield, was appointed by the Board to an expanded role of Global President and Chief Operating Officer overseeing all the firm’s service lines and regions.

Cushman & Wakefield also announced the appointment of Deb Lawson as Associate Director, Client Services, Project & Development Services (PDS) Australia, who will be responsible for the growth of the Victorian, South Australian, and Tasmanian business.

Deb is a business strategist and client relationship specialist with over 25 years of experience across multiple sectors, both private and public, advising property and professional services firms.

The Board of retirement living operator Levande has appointed Kevin McCoy to lead the business on a permanent basis, following two months as interim CEO.

Madeleine Steele was appointed in as Hames Sharley’s South Australian Studio Leader and takes up her new station after playing a senior role in Hames Sharley’s contribution to the state.

Architectus has welcomed four new leaders to its team.

In Melbourne, its Health sector has appointed Principals Bruce Crook and Mark Saunders –architects with more than six decades of combined experience creating healthcare environments.

They join the practice as Architectus merges with Conrad Gargett.

Its Living team in Melbourne has welcomed new Principal Angela Dapper, who brings with her 20 years of international experience working on high-profile projects spanning the hospitality, residential, commercial, and cultural sectors.

In Perth, Principal Stephen Moorcroft joins the Interior Architecture sector, having contributed to many major workplace projects across the aviation, defence, health, education, legal, and finance sectors.
