Dexus announced the appointment of Nik Kemp to the newly created role of Executive General Manager, Growth Markets.

He joins Dexus from AustralianSuper, where he held the role of Global Head of Real Assets and is a non-executive director on the boards of Sydney Airport and WestConnex.

Staying at Dexus, Marjan van der Burg has been appointed Chief People Officer. Prior to joining Dexus, Marjan held a number of roles at Macquarie Group in Australia and overseas.

After 11 years at Dexus, Deborah Coakley will be stepping down as Chief Executive, Funds Management to pursue another opportunity, with Ross Du Vernet, Group CEO & Managing Director, to work closely with the funds management leadership team and capital partners in the interim as the group undertakes a recruitment process.

John Holland has announced that Joe Kokai will join as its new Executive General Manager Building.

Most recently he was a member of the Executive Leadership Team for the Lendlease Construction Business, as well as the Construction Director for the Melbourne Metro Tunnels and Stations PPP.

Savills Australia and New Zealand is growing its asset management team in Western Australia with the appointment of Terri Swed as Associate Director, based in the global agency’s Perth office.

GHD has named May Lin Chew as Chief Legal Officer, joining the company’s Enterprise Leadership Team effective 19 August.

Most recently, May Lin served as the General Counsel and Executive Manager of Western Power, a government-owned corporation that operates the electricity network in Western Australia. Prior to Western Power, she was an international corporate lawyer with Shell for 17 years in Singapore, United Kingdom and the Netherlands. May Lin has also worked in Malaysia and Japan. 

With nearly two decades of expertise in retail management, Ms Swed was most recently a senior property manager at Cygnet West, managing Hillary’s Boat Harbour and Two Rocks Marina as well as spearheading subleases for the Department of Transport and managing a diverse shopping centre portfolio. Prior to this, she spent over a decade as a centre manager at Knight Frank and CBRE.

Grant Taylor has started a new role as Assistant Development Manager at The GPT Group.

Waypoint REIT has announced that Gai McGrath has been appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of WPR and Chair of the Remuneration Committee with effect from 1 August 2024.
