Jo Masters is the Chief Economist of Barrenjoey, a uniquely Australian diversified financial services firm. She is widely sought after by Investors, Executives and Directors for her distinctive views on Australian and global financial markets.
Over the 20 years that Jo has been a central part of the economic debate in Australia, her views on major policy, industry and educational issues have shaped public debate and market decisions. Jo is consistently top-ranked across investor surveys, including the Peter Lee survey and KangaNews Fixed Income survey.
She is regularly called on by international and Australian media for her views on topical issues, including regular appearances on BBC, Bloomberg, CNBC, AFR and Q+A.
Her career started in banking and financial markets at Macquarie Bank in economics, strategy and foreign exchange roles, before moving to ANZ. Most recently, Jo was the Chief Economist for EY Oceania.
Jo holds a Master of Economics from the University of Sydney. She is a member of Chief Executive Women, a mentor for the Minerva Foundation and an Executive Member of the Australian Business Economists.
