About

The National Retirement Living Awards celebrate high achievement across all parts of the retirement living sector. The Awards contain nine categories, and one special award, recognising people and companies doing great work to ensure senior Australians have an enjoyable retirement.

History

The Retirement Living Council is proud to recognise high achievement by village operators, staff and suppliers as they provide senior Australians with the quality experience they are seeking in their retirement. Our annual Awards program began with the Village Manager of the Year award, which was instituted in the 1990s. This was followed by the Rising Generation Award to acknowledge young and emerging talent, created in 2012.

In 2017, the National Retirement Living Awards were expanded to highlight achievement across the entire breadth of the sector, incorporating design, innovation, refurbishment and marketing.

In 2018, the Awards added a new category, Salesperson of the Year, to recognise sales staff displaying excellence, innovation and care for their incoming residents.

In 2020, the Award for Best Retirement Living Development was added to the awards program, to recognise a retirement living development where no less than 50 units or dwellings have been completed in a new or refurbished development.

National Retirement Living Summit

The National Retirement Living Summit is the Property Council’s annual national conference dedicated exclusively to the retirement living sector. Senior leaders from retirement village operators and service providers gather to discuss the important issues and trends affecting the sector and to create and expand their networks.

Retirement Living Council

The Retirement Living Council plays a critical role in the ongoing growth and sustainability of the retirement living industry. It is the only national organisation solely focused on advocating on the critical issues facing housing and services for older Australians, supporting and promoting members and the retirement living industry at large. The Retirement Living Council is a national division of the Property Council.
