Who is the fairest of them all?

Pacific Fair Shopping Centre on the Gold Coast has taken home the title of Queensland Retail Property of the Year for the third time at the Property Council of Australia’s 2024 Queensland Retail Property of the Year Awards.

Each year the Property Council of Australia’s Queensland Retail Property of the Year Awards celebrate the best that the state’s retail properties and precincts have to offer and recognise the people who drive the sector forward.

Winners of the prestigious awards were crowned at the retail property sector’s night of nights on Friday.

Property Council of Australia’s Queensland Executive Director Jess Caire said the awards night was a great opportunity to celebrate excellence in the sector.

“Queensland’s remarkable retail properties are fantastic assets to their communities, offering dining, shopping and entertainment all in one central place,” Ms Caire said.

“From the Goldie to Gladstone we had so many incredible retail properties as finalists in this year’s awards.

“Congratulations to Pacific Fair, which is managed by GPT on behalf of the Australian Core Retail Trust co-owned by Cbus Property and UniSuper, for taking home the top gong but for also taking home the Excellence in Centre Management Award as well.

“Since 1977 Pacific Fair has been a Gold Coast landmark, it was the property’s exceptional presentation and impressive track record that saw the centre take home the top prize.

“This year we saw an incredible nine properties in the running for the Retail Property of the Year title and a special mention must go to runner-up Indooroopilly Shopping Centre and Toowoomba’s Clifford Gardens Shopping Centre who received a Judge’s Commendation,” she said.

Head Judge of the 2024 Queensland Retail Property of the Year Awards David Hedemann said this year’s finalists were of a very high standard.

“I look forward to the Retail Property of the Year Awards every year, seeing the innovation and outstanding work that centres across the state are doing is always inspiring,” Mr Hedemann said.

“Last year we saw Pacific Fair Shopping Centre named runner-up for the Retail Property Year amongst a crowded field of high calibre finalists.

“Pacific Fair doubled down on their performance last year to receive one of the highest ever scores this year.

“Pacific Fair was an easy pick for Retail Property of the Year with a unanimous vote from all judges,” he said.
