The Property Council welcomes new Events Coordinator Kathy Bailey. We sat down with Kathy and asked her a few questions about herself.

1.       What do you consider to be your greatest achievements in life? (personally, or professionally) My children – fortunately despite their mother they have become awesome and productive young adults.

2.       What advice would you give to future leading women in property? Networking is essential in any industry and can be so invaluable and always back yourself and believe in your abilities.

3.       What are the greatest challenges you have had to overcome in your career to date? I worked on a mine site as an Event Coordinator and being in such a male dominated industry was certainly challenging! For the most part though I have been extremely lucky to work with terrific people which has meant I haven’t had too many challenges.

4.       What is your professional background? I have worked in events for nearly 10 years.  I started when I worked as the Event Coordinator for the Dowering Agricultural Field Days which was an extremely quick learning curve.  Throughout the years I have organised National Expos, weddings, corporate events, bands, and everything in between.

5.       Who have been your greatest influences, both personally and professionally? My parents are such huge influences and they have always been very supportive of me.  Professionally Deanne Jones, Wendy Newman and Jen Graffin – three women who are amazing professionals who manged to balance working demanding positions alongside their family life.

6.       Why did you choose to be involved in the Property Council? Because I get to run awesome events for a terrific company.  I love to organise events and look forward to working with everyone to create some stand out events in WA.

7.       What is the best piece of advice you have been given?  If you keep comparing your life to someone else’s you will never be happy – thanks Mum.
