Vale Charles Casuscelli: A Champion for Western Sydney
The Property Council of Australia expresses its deep sadness at the passing of Charles Casuscelli RFD, a passionate advocate for Western Sydney, city-shaping infrastructure and planning reform.
Charles brought enormous energy and passion for his work, from his early roles in traffic management at the Roads and Traffic Authority to his time as Member for Strathfield in the NSW Parliament, and subsequently the Western Sydney Reginal Organisation of Councils (WSROC).
His background helped shape his passion for tackling congestion, advocating for infrastructure, and ensuring Western Sydney’s growth was supported by smarter planning.
As Chief Executive Officer of WSROC, Charles was a dedicated advocate for the region.
He championed strategies to minimise urban heat and create more liveable neighbourhoods for the region’s growing population.
Charles will be remembered as a collaborative leader who worked across political and organisational lines to find common ground.
His door was always open, and his willingness to engage constructively with government, councils and industry will be remembered by all who worked with him.
Our thoughts are with Charles’ family, colleagues, and friends. His legacy will be felt for years to come.
