Statement regarding Sally Capp’s nomination for Lord Mayor
The following statement can be attributed to Property Council of Australia Chief Executive Ken Morrison.
The Property Council of Australia’s Victorian Executive Director Sally Capp has announced she will be standing as a candidate for Lord Mayor of Melbourne at the election to take place in May.
In accordance with Property Council policies, Sally has taken leave without pay from today for the duration of the campaign.
I am pleased to announce that Michael Zorbas has been appointed Interim Executive Director for this period. Michael has previously held senior roles at Lendlease, Stockland and the Property Council among others, as well as being a board member of several national think tanks, and we are grateful that he has agreed to step in to the role for this period.
The Property Council remains steadfastly politically neutral during election campaigns of any sort, but obviously Sally is a great candidate and we wish her well.
