Six South Australian finalists vie for national property awards
Six outstanding South Australian finalists are in the running for are for prestigious national property awards.
The 2015 Property Council of Australia / Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards celebrate leading practice within Australia’s property development and investment industries.
“South Australia has an outstanding reputation for delivering world-class, innovative building projects – with both old and new icons up for awards this year,” says South Australian Executive Director of the Property Council of Australia, Daniel Gannon.
“The property and construction industry is South Australia’s biggest private sector employer – and it’s great to see big and small businesses leading the way.
“TAFE’s $119 million Sustainable Industries Education Centre, which educates 6,0 trade professionals a year, is up for two awards, while the game-changing South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute has been named a finalist in the ‘KONE Award for Innovation’ category.
“The $535 million redevelopment of the Adelaide Oval has breathed new life into a sporting icon, and, more broadly, Adelaide as a destination, and is in the running for the ‘Brain & Poulter Award for Best Tourism & Leisure Development’.
“The Heights Retirement Village, a boutique development in Bellevue Heights, is up for the ‘Lend Lease Award for Best Retirement Living Development’, and Adelaide City Council is up for an award for the Ergo – Stage 1 in the newly-minted ‘Best Affordable Housing Development’ category.
All South Australian finalists are in the running for the industry’s most coveted prize – the Property Council of Australia / Rider Levett Bucknall Australian Development of the Year award.
Managing Director of Rider Levett Bucknall SA, Peter Tulla, says that a total of 99 finalists across 17 categories will be vying for awards this year.
“The broad range of projects under consideration this year underscores our industry’s enduring commitment to building a better future for all Australians,” Mr Tulla says.
“Since 1982, Rider Levett Bucknall has partnered with the Property Council of Australia to present this awards program. We are proud to be recognising the best developments again in 2015,” Mr Tulla concludes.
National award winners will be announced at the 2015 Property Council of Australia / Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards Gala Dinner, to be held in Sydney on Friday 1 May.
