Property Industry Promotes Gender Balance on Boards
The Property Council WA has lead by example, promoting an increase in the number of women on committee and executive boards by doubling the number of women on its Division Council for 2015.
Previously of the 18 person Division Council, only two were female. This year there are four women on board, with Marie-Louise MacDonald, CEO of Masonic Care WA stepping up into the role of deputy President.
“The Property Council must practice what it preaches when it comes to promoting women within our industry,” Property Council WA Executive Director Joe Lenzo said.
“The contribution these women have made to the Division Council and the Property Council’s advocacy efforts really speaks for itself.
“In the coming years we hope to see even greater equality throughout all of our committees.
“The Diversity committee for example is doing great things, to increase the inclusion and participation of women within the industry including our successful mentoring program which will be running for a second time in 2016.”
The Property Council encourages all industries to promote gender equality through equal representation in leadership roles.
