Property Council salutes two new life members
The Property Council today welcomed two industry leaders as new life members in the NSW Division – John Elvy & Louise Joslin.
Property Council Honorary Life Memberships are granted to a rare and select group.
Property Council NSW Executive Director Jane Fitzgerald said today that both John Elvy and Louise Joslin have contributed greatly to the property industry and the Property Council in particular.
“It is my privilege and honour to announce the honorary life memberships to these two great individuals,” Ms Fitzgerald said.
“John is a property industry legend who has made an enormous contribution to the real estate and development professions for more than 40 years.
“Louise’s commitment to the growth of the property and development industry within NSW is second to none. She has been a trailblazer and a dedicated advocate for the industry she loves.
“As the first woman in the NSW Division to receive an honorary life membership Louise will continue to be at the vanguard of creating a more diverse property industry.”
John Elvy
John has had a critical role in driving the agenda of the Property Council in NSW for two decades.
John’s roles as a key industry player and in local government have served as a platform for him to raise the profile of the Property Council and advocate for its causes.
He has served over 15 years as a member of NSW Division Council including in the role of NSW Vice President of the Property Council from 2008, assisting 3 Presidents during that time
John has contributed as a member of the Division Management Committee, chaired the Property Council’s NSW Infrastructure Taskforce and was a member of the NSW Planning Committee for 13 years
Since 2011, John has chaired the Congress Committee responsible for determining content for the Property Congress, the Property Council’s premier annual national event.
Louise Joslin
Louise’s achievements have impacted on all spheres of activity within the Property Council.
Louise served as NSW President of the Property Council during the time of the Sydney Olympics where she was pivotal in providing a strong voice on behalf of the membership on the changes needed to manage planning and infrastructure issues for the Olympics
She also established the Future Directions Committee in NSW which still promotes the profile and growth of the next generation of property professionals and delivers a successful event program.
Louise is still involved with the Property Council, chairing the National Research Committee which explores the unmet research needs of our members.
