Property Council launches Western Sydney Taskforce

The Property Council of Australia new Western Sydney Taskforce held its inaugural meeting yesterday to help coordinate the property industry’s role in driving jobs, investment and growth across Sydney’s greater west.

The Taskforce, chaired by Richard Horne of Halesmith Property is comprised of all sectors of the property industry – from retail to residential, from industrial and logistics to commercial, from retirement living to hotels.

“Importantly, the new Taskforce also includes Property Council member representatives from local, state and federal government bodies with an interest in the Western Sydney of today and tomorrow,” Western Sydney Regional Director, Ross Grove, said today.

“Western Sydney is undergoing a rapid transformation and with this new Taskforce supporting our recently appointed new Regional Director, Ross Grove, the Property Council is showing our strong commitment to helping shape our city’s west,” NSW Executive Director Jane Fitzgerald said today.

“Taskforce members identified infrastructure, connectivity, land release and taxation as issues that should be progressed,” Mr Grove said.

“Members are at the heart of everything the Property Council does. I look forward to working with the Taskforce as we strive to make our region one of the most attractive destinations for our industry.”

The Property Council held its Building the Western City breakfast, featuring Sam Sangster, Chief Executive Officer of the Western City Aerotropolis Authority at Bankwest Stadium earlier this month. The event discussed new developments in the aerotropolis precinct and was attended by more than 300 industry leaders.
