Property Council Crowns WA Village Manager of the Year
The Property Council is delighted to announce that Jemma Viney is the WA Village Manger of the year.
Jemma is Village Manager of Forest Lakes Lifestyle Village, operated by Masonic Care WA.
Jemma was described by residents of the Forest Lake Life style village as a “committed and dynamic individual who possesses a dedication and accountability to her role rarely seen in the industry.”
“Jemma is able to analyse any situation and respond with the appropriate balance of empathy, support or provide the right amount of direction as required.”
“In her 7 years at MCWA Jemma has progressed from an administration support role, to an Assistant Village Manager, to a Village Manager role which now encompasses managing MCWA’s largest village.”
Also recognised as this year’s runner-up was Mark Hoebee, Village Manager, St Ives Centro.
Residents at St Ives Centro said: ” Mark displays enthusiasm with a ‘can-do attitude’ and has overcome several legacy issues relating to maintenance within the village. He also portrays a positive image around staff and residents. Mark has a way of being ‘firm but fair’ and communicates with all stakeholders especially when dealing with delicate and complicated matters.”
Property Council WA Deputy Executive Director Alix Rhodes said: ” these awards signify the extraordinary contribution to village life, made by hardworking and dedicated village managers.
“As the company representative in a village, the manager role is vital in ensuring the operator is in tune with the needs of residents and is able to respond quickly to any issues that may arise.
“An active and passionate village manager has the ability to greatly improve the quality of life for all residents.
“The Property Council congratulates both Jemma and Mark for their dedication and commitment to the retirement living industry,” Ms Rhodes said.
