The Property Council of Australia has congratulated the recently elected NSW Labor Government and Premier Chris Minns who has now been sworn in as the 47th Premier of NSW, with an interim Ministry.
Property Council’s NSW Acting Executive Director Adina Cirson said the Property Council looked forward to working with the incoming Premier and Cabinet to confront the housing supply crisis, make NSW the place of choice and continue to create a more sustainable future.
“The role of Premier is the pinnacle leadership position in our state and industry looks forward to engaging with the incoming government. We want to be able to work constructively with government to continue to play our role in ensuring the many commitments which matter to our members and our communities in which we live and work in, start to be delivered,” Ms Cirson said.
“These include commitments to urban density around transport hubs, creating greater certainty through streamlining the planning system, and expanding the supply of social and affordable housing in NSW.
“What we need to see are the aspirational plans that have seen NSW Labor elected, now become a plan to deliver and we look forward to working with them to achieve these goals as an industry and as members of our community.”
Property Council’s Acting NSW Executive Director Adina Cirson also acknowledged the hard work and dedication of the previous government and former Premier Dominic Perrotett, and his contribution to such a hugely demanding and public role in NSW government.
“We recognise Dominic Perrotett’s contribution and that of many of his senior Ministers who have been so generous with their time and engagement with our sector over many years.”
