CITY OF DARWIN ELECTION

The Property Council welcomes all candidates seeking to be elected to the City of Darwin.

Property Council of Australia’s Northern Territory Executive Director Ruth Palmer says the future of Darwin is at point of inflection; so much depends upon the role and vision that will be adopted by the City of Darwin over the next term.

“With the state of both the economy and the city, there has never been a more important local election in recent memory.

“With a near record number of candidates standing for election, it is of critical importance that voters know what each candidates vision for Darwin is, what they stand for, and most importantly what they will do if elected.

“The successful candidates will be faced with the incredibly difficult and challenging task of implementing and developing strategies and policies that activate and revitalise Darwin’s struggling CBD.

“The Property Council is today commencing its 2017 City of Darwin Campaign that will canvass each candidate’s views on critical issues facing the community and the revitalisation of the city.

“Each candidate will be presented with a 10 question questionnaire to answer, with the results to be published on our website.
