AAMI Stadium and old Le Cornu site represent economic windfall

The Property Council of Australia (SA Division) has welcomed news that both the AAMI Stadium and old Le Cornu site developments will soon be commenced.

“The AAMI Stadium development will be one of South Australia’s largest development projects – put simply, it’s a billion dollar project,” said SA Executive Director Daniel Gannon.

“This site is bordered by three pristine golf courses – Grange, Royal Adelaide and West Lakes. In terms of its location, it’s strategically placed near some incredible attractions including the coastline.

“It’s also important to note that this development plan can drive demand for transport and other services in the area. From this perspective, it really is a catalyst project.

“Similarly, development of the old Le Cornu site in North Adelaide will deliver confidence to the local property market here in South Australia and end 25 years of ebbing and flowing.

“Not only that, but once finished it will complete the development narrative along O’Connell Street into Adelaide Oval, the Riverbank and CBD.

“This currently vacant site is bordered by prime residential real estate, premium restaurants, pubs, cafes and retail shops, located near Australia’s best sporting ground, and serviced by public transport options.

“It’s the full package in terms of its geographic location.

“When combined with the AAMI Stadium development, these sites will drive the economy, create thousands of property, construction and retail jobs going forward, and position this industry as pivotal to our state’s economic future.

“These two sites have been announced within days of each other and represent an economic windfall in terms of potential jobs and financial return for South Australia’s economy.”
