2023 WA Property Awards
The Claremont Hotel, the team behind Karrinyup Shopping Centre and property leader Adrian Fini were among the winners of the WA Property Awards on Saturday night.
Property Council WA Executive Director Sandra Brewer said the awards showcase the positive impact of WA’s property industry in delivery the spaces and places that make our state great.
“Property projects have a significant impact on the lives of all West Australians. They influence the economy, job opportunities, housing availability, and overall quality of life,” Ms Brewer said.
“The WA Property Awards recognise the leading projects and people delivering the built form spaces that enrich WA culturally, socially and economically.
“Each of the winners have made impressive contributions to the property sector and our State. Congratulations to all the 2023 award winners.”
The awards were assessed by an independent panel of judges and recognised 22 winners and three project commendations across the spectrum of property.
Notable winners included The GPT Group, the team behind Karrinyup Shopping Centre, who took home two awards on Saturday night – the Best Retail Operation and Best Retail marketing Campaign for its Christmas Tree Lighting Festival.
Karrinyup’s $800 million redevelopment was the largest retail development in Western Australia’s history. The centre now offers the most comprehensive and unique mix of retail, leisure and entertainment experiences in the State.
The architects behind the revamped of the iconic Claremont Hotel, Rothelowman, were awarded best leisure and hospitality development. The hotel’s reimagined design has reactivated Claremont’s town centre while paying homage to the landmark’s distinct character.
The awards included individual and team recognitions, with one of WA’s leading entrepreneurs, Adrian Fini OAM recognised as the WA Property Leader of the Year.
The award recognised his passion for delivering visionary city shaping projects such as the State Buildings in the CBD, Fremantle’s Little Creatures Brewery, Coogee Common and the Bunker Bay Resort in WA’s South West.
Also winning two awards was PEET’s Brabham Estate, in the City of Joondalup, collecting the Best Property Sales Marketing Campaign Award and the Best Innovation Award, with the Green Homes Display being one of the key initiatives delivered to date.
“Many of the projects recognised in this year’s award program were delivered despite well reported market challenges. The perseverance and commitment of the property industry to continue to deliver for a growing WA should not be understated.
“The depth, skill, passion and expertise displayed in this year’s WA Property Awards demonstrates the sector is ready to play a leading role in tackling the two biggest issues West Australians currently face – the cost-of-living crisis and a housing shortage.”
Energy-Tec Managing Director Damien Moran said the WA Property Awards commends the companies and individuals who are driving innovation and growth.
“The WA Property awards are a fitting acknowledgement to the leaders in the WA property industry. Their hard work is responsible for so much of the prosperity that our State enjoys,” Mr Moran said.
“Congratulations to all the winners and the 70 nominees of this year’s awards.”
