Robina Town Centre has been awarded the Queensland retail sector’s most prestigious honour – taking out the 2017 Retail Property of the Year award – as well as excellence awards for food retailing, and marketing.
The Property Council of Australia’s Queensland Retail Property of the Year Awards acknowledge the best in retail properties and precincts and celebrate the contribution of the industry to the broader community. The winners were announced at the annual Retail Awards Gala Dinner at Brisbane City Hall on Friday, 1 September.
Queensland Executive Director of the Property Council, Chris Mountford, said that Robina Town Centre was a fitting winner of the Retail Property of the Year title.
“The unique offer of Robina Town Centre’s new food retailing precinct, The Kitchens at Robina, particularly appealed to the judges,” Mr Mountford said.
“The judges felt that The Kitchens really pushed the boundaries and blurred the lines of both casual dining and food retailing, redefining the way we traditionally view food precincts.
“The Kitchens has provided the Gold Coast with an urban marketplace, delivering a multi-sensory, fresh food and dining experience.
Along with the award for Excellence in Food Retailing- over six tenancies, Robina Town Centre also took home an Excellence in Marketing award for the launch of The Kitchens, which told the individual stories of the passionate people who make up The Kitchens.
“The judges were very impressed by the excellent sales and traffic results that the launch of The Kitchens was able to generate, and how well the campaign was researched and implemented.
The judging panel was unanimous in its agreement on awarding Robina Town Centre as the 2017 Retail Property of the Year.
“After scoring well across all four award categories, it was the particularly strong results in the Marketing and Food retailing categories that tipped the scales in Robina Town Centre’s favour,” Mr Mountford said.
“The unique retailing environment that has been created is of the highest standard of excellence, and highly deserving of the Retail Property of the Year title.
“Congratulations to the team at Robina Town Centre and QIC for their outstanding achievement.
“Our congratulations go to all finalists and winners in the 2017 Retail Property of the Year Awards for their success on the evening, and their ongoing commitment to advancing Queensland’s retail sector.”
