Two industry leaders have been recognised by the Property Council for their outstanding contributions to the organisation and the property industry.
Executive Chairman of Grocon, Daniel Grollo and Carol Schwartz, AM were honoured with the Victorian Honorary Life Membership and National Honorary Life Membership respectively at the Property Council’s Lord Mayor Business Lunch on 19 October.
Victorian Executive Director of the Property Council, Sally Capp, said that both life members had been instrumental to the success of the organisation through their outstanding leadership and dedication.
“The extraordinary record of service from these two life members have left an enduring legacy on the Property Council.
“Our effectiveness as industry advocates is owed in great part to members such as Carol and Daniel, national leaders in their own right who have given back to the industry over so many years.”
Daniel Grollo
Executive Chairman of Grocon, Daniel Grollo is a Former Victorian President of the Property Council of Australia (2003-05) and Former National President of the Property Council of Australia, as well as a Founding Member of the Green Building Council of Australia.
Daniel led Grocon’s Black Saturday clean up and rebuild and is extensively involved with charitable organisations and community employment programmes. He is furthermore a company participant in the ‘Homes for Homes’ initiative.
Carol Schwartz
Carol Schwartz is a dynamic property and business leader, who holds one of the country’s most diverse portfolios of board appointments, including directorships with Stockland, Qualitas property group, Yarra Capital Partners private equity firm, and the Bank of Melbourne.
Carol was Victorian Divisional President from 1994 to 1996; a board member from 1996 to 2001 and National president from 1999 to 2001. Carol was the first woman president in Victoria and the first woman national President of the property Council.
In 2001, Carol was awarded the Centenary medal and in 2006, Carol was made a Member of the Order of Australia.
In 2015, Carol became the inaugural Convenor of the Property Male Champions of Change program and this year she was inducted into the Property Council Hall of Fam
