Property Council Academy Introduces WA’s First Retirement Living Diploma Program

  • September 13, 2017

The Property Council Academy has launched WA’s inaugural retirement living diploma program – the Village Management Industry Diploma.

The program, developed in partnership with the Retirement Living Council, aims to give participants a sound understanding of the retirement living industry and to give them the tools to navigate the Retirement Village Act

“With the retirement living sector experiencing a healthy level of growth, there is no better time to be a part of this exciting and fascinating sector,” Property Council WA Executive Director Lino Iacomella said.

“As this growth continues, it is critical that those planning to make the move into the industry are equipped with the knowledge and expertise to thrive.”

“Our very first diploma course, which has been created by industry experts, offers a thorough understanding of management, organizational and compliance issues in the industry while providing the necessary technical information to successfully manage a retirement village.”

“As a sector we are dedicated to leading the way in developing talent and investing in the personal development of industry professionals. The Village Management Industry Diploma marks the first of many diplomas we hope to offer Perth’s property professionals as we continue to strengthen our industries knowledge and expertise.”

The diploma is made up of four parts combining e-learning and face-to-face courses:

  • Introduction to the Retirement Living Industry (E-learning)
  • Navigating the Retirement Villages Act (Half Day Course)
  • Village Manager Advanced (2 day course)
  • Village Management Electives (E-learning modules with written assignments)
