The Property Council has secured a commitment from the WA Labor Government that there will be no increase to the Perth Parking Levy in the WA State budget.
The announcement comes following strong advocacy from the Property Council in our pre-budget submission and a strong media presence.
Following the release of a media statement in early August, the Property Council has worked to secure confirmation from the Minister’s office, which we received this week.
“This announcement is welcome news to the property industry, especially those with an interest in the CBD,” Property Council WA Executive Director Lino Iacomella said.
“Certainty that the Perth Parking Levy will not be going up again will provide investor confidence and will encourage people back to the CBD. It will also keep parking prices steady.
In the statement, a representative from Treasurer Ben Wyatt’s office said: “There will be no further increases to the Perth Parking Levy in the September 7 budget. This levy as well as a suite of others were covered in our announcement in June as they were subject to July 1 increases.”
“This advocacy win is a great example of the power of our advocacy when combined with a strong media message,” Mr Iacomella said.
