High-density plan for Belmont station welcomed

  • September 19, 2017

The Property Council welcomes the focus on high density and mixed-use development proposed at the new Belmont station precinct.

“The Property Council encourages the State Government to maximise the potential of this project to achieve the high-density outcomes that industry is striving for in other existing stations,” Property Council WA Executive Director Lino Iacomella said.

“This is a great opportunity to show leadership in achieving Perth’s infill plan with METRONET. It’s also a great opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of high-density development to neighbouring station communities.

“The Belmont project is an opportunity to create a world-class station precinct with the benefit of the proposed Community Titles in the Government’s strata title reform plan.

“The Property Council has also called on the government to consult closely with the development industry before progressing with value capture at the Belmont station precinct,” Mr Iacomella said.
