The Property Council is supporting calls for more infrastructure investment in the greater Bunbury region and to establish Bunbury as WA’s second capital city.
“Bunbury urgently needs strategic infrastructure to create the capacity to build new industries that are urgently needed to keep WA growing,” Property Council WA Executive Director Lino Iacomella said.
“Key projects include the Bunbury inner harbour upgrade, the Bunbury outer ring road and a faster and more direct passenger rail service from Perth.
“I recently met with the South West Development Commission in Bunbury and I saw the enormous potential for greater state economic growth in the greater Bunbury region.
“The inner harbour upgrade will create a world-class waterfront to boost tourism and will provide a catalyst for urban development in the Bunbury CBD.
“The completion of the Bunbury outer ring road will support commercial and commuter traffic growth in the area, driving business growth.
“If Perth is to grow successfully, it needs a major neighboring regional center to provide diversity in growth opportunities for communities and businesses”.
