Tim is widely recognised as an industry leader in student housing. After a lengthy career in the hospitality industry in Australia and oversees, Tim entered the student housing industry in the year 2000 as General Manager of St John’s College at the University of Sydney. Tim subsequently joined Campus Living Villages (CLV) in 2002 as its first CEO to develop and manage a 650 bed student housing complex within the grounds of Sydney University. Tim operated Sydney University Village for the following two years.

During the next six years, Tim played an integral part in the expansion of CLV in Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom, including establishing operations and developments in those countries. By the time Tim stepped aside in 2010 as Global Director of Operations, CLV owned and/or managed more than 40 000 student beds in four countries. 

Recognising the lack of independent expertise In Student Housing, Tim established Student Housing Solutions, a consultancy and advisory service aiding financiers, developers and universities across Australia. Tim brings considerable knowledge and commitment to a student housing project. His insight is not limited to management and operations, but includes considerable knowledge on market trends, building design and functionality, affordability, finance and feasibility.

In 2014 Tim was approached to start a new Student Accommodation company In Australia, Student One, developing and operating 2400 off campus student beds in Brisbane, with plans to expand to other capital cities in Australia. Tim oversaw the development and operations as CEO of Student One, and successfully steered Student One during very challenging times of Covid-19 when Australia closed their borders for many months.

The reopening of the borders saw a resurgence in the education business with the return of students to campus, and in November 2023 the investors took the opportunity to sell Student One and all its assets to Blackstone following which Tim stayed on for six months to assist in the transition. Following this brief period with Blackstone and as planned Tim took the opportunity to take a break and spend time with his family.

After 24 years in the Student Accommodation Industry Tim is highly regarded by his peers as a pioneer in the industry and he still stays in close contact.
