Desiree has over 25 years’ experience as an urban development strategist and planning professional working in both the private and public sectors, and is currently with SMEC in Brisbane. Her diverse experience includes strategic portfolio, project and property advice, having worked across most development types and challenges, with particular interest in large and complex renewal projects, large residential communities and mixed-use developments.
Most recently, Desiree held the position of Executive Director, Planning Services with the Queensland State Government’s land development agency, Economic Development Queensland, leading the regulatory land use planning and development assessment functions across Queensland’s 35 Priority Development Areas.
Desiree has been keenly involved with the Property Council’s work over many years, a member of various Property Council Committees since 2014 and of the judging panel for the Property Council of Australia/Rider Levett Bucknall Innovation and Excellence Awards since 2015.
