Professor Prasad is an internationally recognized Australian expert in the field of environment, sustainability and governance with a focus on decarbonisation, clean energy, resilience, regeneration and energy efficiency in buildings, infrastructure and cities. 

His experience covers practice as an architect (design and planning), an energy-environment consultant, a distinguished academic, significant leadership and governance expertise, all with notable recognition from all levels of government and professions. 

He was the founder and CEO of the CRC for Low Carbon Living and now heads the NSW Decarbonisation Innovation Hub based at the UNSW. 

He has authored in excess of 350 refereed publications including 12 books. 

His books such as  Delivering on Climate Emergency – race to net zero carbon buildings (Springer), Decarbonising the Built Environment – charting the transition (Springer), Designing with solar power – for IEA (EarthScan) among others are used extensively as texts.
