Youngcare CEO Clare Stewart is the former Mayor of Noosa Shire. She is also a former Barrister at Law, published author, former nationally accredited mediator, keynote speaker, wife and mother. 

Clare graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Business (Management) (1997), attended Bond University where she graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) in 2000 and soon after took up a position with KPMG. She also holds a graduate diploma in legal practice and a Master of Laws (LLM) from the University of Sydney.

Following a catastrophic accident, Clare continued her professional formation and was admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2001 and was called to the Private Bar in Queensland as a Barrister at Law in 2008. Meanwhile, Clare began her journey with Youngcare as the first volunteer in 2006.

In 2013 her autobiography (Standing On My Own Two Feet) written in her maiden name was published, documenting a life-changing event that left her with lifetime disability. In 2017, Clare developed the online women’s network platform dear molly which inspires, informs and connects women across the globe. In 2018, Clare continued her association with Youngcare as a Board Director. 

Clare was elected Mayor of Noosa Council in the 2020 Local Government elections. She is the first woman to hold the position. During her term as Mayor, she was a Director of South-East Queensland Council of Mayors and in July 2022 was appointed by her fellow Mayors to the Brisbane Organising Committee for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. 

In December 2024 Clare was appointed as the incoming CEO of Youngcare and in January 2025 Clare was appointed as a Board Director to Stadiums Queensland. Clare currently resides in Brisbane where her three children are attending school.
