Alongside The APP Group, the Property Council of Australia’s WA Divisions launched its Yes In My Backyard report.
Western Australia has fallen behind in the delivery of new homes, and the shortfall is set to increase by a further 25,000 homes by the end of 2027.
Overcoming this challenge is going to need the collective effort of the entire WA community – the state government and private sector can’t do it alone.
We must be unequivocal, housing is a community problem, and it requires a community solution.
An overhaul in thinking is needed to help us deliver the homes needed to house every West Australian.
We need to start saying “Yes In My Backyard” more.
