Our annual Victorian Growth Summit, a have day event consisting of four sessions covered three major theses including planning, investing and partnering for growth.
The first session, ‘The National Overview’ saw Dr Daniel Mulino MP outline the Federal Government’s policies and strategies for managing growth. We then moved into our second session ‘Plan for Victoria’ which was deep dive into the successes and failures of previous state plans and potential strategies that could inform the next state plan thanks to keynote speaker Brian Haratsis (Macroplan) and panellists, David Allington (Stockland), Colleen Peterson (Ratio Consultants) and Jessie Wright (née Keating) (Department of Transport and Planning).
After morning tea, at our third session ‘Victoria as an investment destination for growth,’ our keynote speaker, Alex Joiner (IFM Investors) discussed the state of investment globally and locally before exploring the economic reality of the population growth in our country. Finally, the last session ‘Partnerships for Growth,’ saw panel, Chris Freeman (The APP Group), Terrene Searle CPA (Tetris Capital) and Angela Skandarajah (Development Victoria) with moderator David Brown (Urbis) discuss the different partnership delivery models currently undertaken by the state.
