This afternoon we hosted another topical business lunch at The Fullerton Hotel Sydney, ‘The missing sector? Transport’s role in addressing the housing shortage’.

The event kicked off with keynote speaker CEO Benedicte Colin of TAHE providing an overview of property development and management in the transport sector, showcasing how cutting-edge international approaches from the UK and France could be adapted here.

Panellists Jessica Paterson (Project Director, Urban Regeneration of Lendlease), Peter Achterstraat AM (NSW Productivity Commissioner) and moderator Ashleigh Ryan, Director at Urbis then discussed the challenges of population growth in NSW and the need for increased community engagement to understand density benefits and improve public acceptance for development.

The conversation then concluded on how developing transport infrastructure requires collaboration, accountability, and social licence to operate, as well as how a lack of integrated planning between transport agencies and other government entities can inhibit transit-oriented development.

We would like to thank all of our speakers, moderators and sponsors Stantec and TSA Management for making this event possible.
