A “Builder’s Budget” with the property sector at its heart.
NSW Treasurer Daniel Mookhey made it clear: housing, infrastructure and industry partnership are front and centre in the Government’s agenda.
There’s a long way to go – but this Budget made some welcome moves, many shaped by Property Council advocacy:
– $1bn Pre-Sale Finance Guarantee to unlock homes in the “missing middle”
– Permanent land tax concession for Build-to-Rent
– New Investment Delivery Authority to fast-track major projects
– Record investment in skills and support for modern methods of construction
– Reform to infrastructure delivery and a renewed push for national productivity.
The Treasurer openly credited the Property Council for bringing bold, evidence-based ideas to the table – and invited more.
As the Treasurer told the room: “Your advocacy matters, your feedback counts, and your partnership is essential.”
