Home Galleries No room at the inn: Queensland’s hotel crunch

Queensland’s tourism destinations and major events are attracting global audiences, however our hotel sector is struggling to keep up, with thousands of new hotel rooms urgently needed. This event put the spotlight on hotels and whether we can build enough to accommodate visitors from all over the world.

This morning’s event showcased two keynote speakers The Hon Andrew Powell MP, Minister for the Environment and Tourism and Minister for Science and Innovation – Queensland Parliament and Ally Gibson – Head of Hotels Research, CBRE , followed by both speakers joining a panel with  Melanie Anderson – General Manager Strategy and Advocacy, Queensland Tourism Industry Council and Jeremy Holmes – Development Director, KTQ Group , which was expertly moderated by Anthony Ryan – Chief Executive Officer, Brisbane Economic Development Agency.

Thank you to our speakers and of course the Major Sponsor, Mullins.
