Home Property Australia DRAFT GOVERNMENT SEWERAGE POLICY

DRAFT GOVERNMENT SEWERAGE POLICY

  • September 20, 2017
The Property Council of Australia has lodged a submission on the need for the current review of the government’s sewerage policy to take a more strategic view and address new solutions to providing essential service infrastructure.

The focus of this submission is to recommend that the finalisation of the policy should:

1. Give greater recognition to the role of private wastewater service providers; and,
2. Not require connection to reticulated sewer as a standard condition for ALL subdivision approvals of industrial sites as a starting point ie. low effluent generating type industries can be allowed in “dry” type industrial estates as well as on site disposal of effluent using state of the art technologies.
