Review of the Retirement Living Code of Conduct

Since its launch on 1 January 2020, subscriptions to the Retirement Living Code of Conduct have steadily increased and there are currently more than 600 villages, with almost 70,000 Independent Living Units (ILUs) covered by the Code nation-wide. This means means your support, an estimated 54% of senior Australians residing in a retirement villages are living in a Code Compliant community. 

As part of her role as the Code Administrator, Megan Hobson is required to regularly review the Code and commit to ongoing consultation with stakeholders to ensure it remains current and relevant, that its objectives are being met and it remains broadly accepted by stakeholders. Together, with RLCA Director, Nicholas Playoust, Megan recently commenced this review, seeking feedback from operator's Code Compliance Officers to invite them to participate by completing a confidential survey, which is due to be submitted no later than COB Friday 16 July 2021. 

Please ensure your Code Compliance Officer has received the invitation to join the Review and encourage them to participate in the survey or provide feedback directly.
