CBD VIP Campaign – Week One Winner Announced

Property Council has announced the first winner of its CBD VIP campaign, a four-week competition aimed at increasing foot traffic for Perth’s inner-city businesses.

Wayde Keyser has won over $9,000 worth of vouchers from Perth CBD retail and hospitality businesses, free parking for a month from the City of Perth, a Golden SmartRider which allows free use of public transport for a year, and vouchers to enjoy iconic WA tourism experiences.

Mr Keyser said he was thrilled to be the first CBD VIP winner, but the prize was secondary to how great it has been to see a strong return of workers to the city.

“CBD VIP is a great initiative; it has really reinvigorated Perth and is having a noticeable impact on the number of smiling faces on the terrace.

“I am looking forward to spending some of my prize vouchers catching up with friends and colleagues, but I think my wife is even more excited to get spending.” Mr Keyser said.

The winning entry was randomly selected from over 1,300 entries made across the first week of the campaign.

“We’ve seen a fantastic response to the campaign in week one, with the City of Perth seeing an increase in foot traffic compared with the previous week.” WA Executive Director Sandra Brewer said.

“People are responding positively to the lifting of COVID-19 restrictions with good signs that office workers are coming back.

“While it’s just the start, there is a sense of confidence and optimism with business owners across the city seeing light at the end of the tunnel.” Ms. Brewer said.

There are over 30 activations scattered across Perth’s CBD with businesses displaying a CBD VIP poster with a QR code. Property Council encourages everyone to enter the competition, with three weeks remaining and over $50,000 left in the prize pool.

“We’re encouraging all businesses in the CBD to get behind this campaign. Visit the website, find one of the many CBD VIP points around the city, or reach out to the Property Council team to add your business as a participating location so you can share in the fun,” Ms Brewer concluded.

Weekly prize winners will be announced each Friday afternoon, with a campaign wrap up to be held on Friday 27 May from 12pm where the ultimate CBD VIP winner will be announced.
