The State Government has announced the Growth Areas Delivery Team (GADT) has selected Caboolture West as a pilot site known as Neighbourhood Development Plan 1.

Moreton Bay Regional Council will work together with utility providers, private sector, and state government departments on a coordinated approach to unlock land supply in a timely manner.

Moreton Bay Regional Council, Unity Water, Department of Transport and Main Roads are already working together in conjunction with land owners to progress development

Diverse range of housing product will be available along with parks, sports facility, primary school and local shopping facilities

Upgrades will be made to the existing road, footpaths and cycleways in the surrounding area to support livability

It is anticipated that the provision of an increased water and utility network capacity will ensure that the pilot site provides 3,000 new homes and eventually deliver up to an additional 30,000 homes for 70,000 people in the future.

Increasing land supply across Queensland, with the support from State Government through the establishment of the Building Acceleration Fund were key policy recommendations the Property Council took to the last State Election. We welcome the announcement today as it is an important step forward to address housing shortages as a result of expedited population growth in Queensland.
