Gold Coast Property Outlook 2020
Over 150 property professionals attended the Property Council’s Gold Coast Market Outlook to learn what the year ahead holds for the Gold Coast property market.
The event analysed developments that would influence the residential, retail, commercial and tourism sectors in both the near and long term.
Clinton Oswald, Group Director, Property Economics and Research – Urbis delivered the keynote address where he examined how the Gold Coast’s property industry would need to remain resilient in the face of challenges posed by coronavirus and volatile oil price movements.
Following Clinton’s presentation, Bryce Melville, Partner – MinterEllison moderated a panel discussion that featured Miranda Wilson, Investment Manager – QIC; Lisa Murdoch, Director Institutional & Middle Markets QLD – JLL, and Damien Winterburn, Managing Director – Boulder Capital.
All panelists outlined the underlying strong fundamentals of the Coast’s economy and predicted a strong return once the global situation stabilizes. The panel also discussed the importance of attracting the next wave of premium tourism brands to continue the Gold Coast’s reputation and legacy.
